St Mary’s Primary School at Maffra celebrates major refurbishment projects

 

Staff and students at St Mary’s Primary School at Maffra celebrated the Blessing and official opening of major refurbishment projects which have created vibrant and spacious learning spaces for students to thrive.

Fr Edwin Ogbuka - St Mary’s Parish Priest officially blessed the new facilities. He was joined by Mr Paul Velten - Director of Catholic Education for the Diocese of Sale, Mr Julian Blackford – Principal, along with special guests including the Hon. Mr Martin Dixon - Board Director of DOSCEL, staff, students, and friends of the school, parish, and local community.  

Principal. Mr Julian Blackford said the refurbishment projects had been transformative for the school creating new light filled, flexible learning and collaborative spaces for staff and students.

“The project involved refurbishment of the administration area including new communication and security systems to enhance safety for students and staff. General learning areas, art room, staffroom and staff toilets were also upgraded, and new roofing installed.”

Mr Blackford said it a was an exciting time in the history of the school. “These refurbished buildings allow the highest quality learning and teaching, and safety for our students.”

 

Mr Paul Velten, Director of Catholic Education for the Diocese of Sale, commended the efforts of the project team, school and parish community.

 

“St Mary’s Catholic Primary School is committed to providing quality education and fostering strong ties within their learning community. The new facilities will provide additional resources and spaces for students to thrive academically, spiritually, and socially, now and into the future.
