Diploma of Teaching Gippsland Institute of Advanced Education (GIAE); Master of Education - Research: Assessment the Movie - (Monash University); Graduate Diploma of Human Resource Management (Charles Sturt University)

Marg has worked in a variety of leadership roles across the Diocese of Sale.  These include: Students with Additional Needs, Wellbeing, Maths and Curriculum; Deputy Principal; Education Officer (Students with Additional Needs); and Education Officer (Human Resources).

Marg is passionate and committed to personalising the learning of all students. Her work with students and teachers is always guided by the following principles:

  • Each student must develop strategies to be independent in their learning, be curious to learn and creatively problem solve and be confident with the tools of how to learn.
  • Students, parents and teachers work in partnership in an environment of respectful relationships, inclusion and risk taking.
  • Students and teachers work together to create learning goals and success criteria giving feedback throughout the learning process.

Underpinning these principles are the expectations that teachers understand and really ‘know’ the progression of the Victorian Curriculum.  Teachers must know how to teach the curriculum and how to determine what students have learned. Furthermore, it is essential that teachers understand the necessity of formative assessment pieces, how to evaluate and use these to progress the learning of each student, who at all times is working with the teacher to push the limits of learning expectations.

In her current role, Marg as Education Officer (Learning and Teaching), builds the capacity of school leaders to improve the outcomes for all students through a focus on these philosophies.
