    re:th!nk: Aspiring to Principalship

In recent years, the Diocese of Sale has joined with the Catholic Education Office Melbourne (CEOM) to address the professional learning needs for those aspiring to principalship.

The re:th!nk Aspiring to Principalship Program is a two year program which is offered to senior leaders within primary and secondary schools who see Principalship as the next step in their leadership journey.

The Aspiring to Principalship projects works in partnership with Atkinson-Consulting to facilitate this two year program. The initial year focuses on a leadership development program called re:th!nk, designed specifically for Aspirant Principals currently in senior leadership roles to gain individualised 360º feedback as the basis for continuing targeted  leadership development. The second year of the program encompasses a principal shadowing component and is aligned with the Model of Principal Induction Support to ensure that participants engage in a range of professional learning opportunities specifically relevant to the role of principal and to support application to principal positions.

Since the introduction of this program in 2009, many aspiring senior leaders within the Sale Diocese have become principals or have been appointed to acting principal roles. The program continues to be an effective and highly regarded leadership formation program.
