About the school

St Michaels Berwick - Dr Angela KellySt Michael’s Catholic Primary School was established in 1962 by the Presentation Sisters to provide a quality Catholic education for children within the St Michael’s Parish.

St Michael’s is committed to continuing these foundations in working with talented and dedicated staff and the school community to ensure that we create an environment that enables each child to develop to his or her maximum potential.

We do this by providing a well resourced, safe and stimulating school where our children are encouraged to be their best and do their best.

The learning environment at St Michael’s encourages students to excel in English, Mathematics, Science and Humanities, while the Religious Education curriculum assists children in their faith journey.

St Michael’s students enjoy specialist teaching in Performing Arts, Creative Arts and Physical Education. Japanese and Italian is available to children in Grades 3-6.

A range of support programs are available, such as Speech Therapy, Reading Recovery and Enhanced Mathematical Understanding (EMU).

St Michael’s also has access to two visiting psychologists and offers the Seasons for Growth program to support children experiencing grief.

There is a strong sense of community at St Michael’s. Class parents organise practical support – such as meals for families in need, as well as social events for school families. There is an active Parents Committee and School Board.

We are very proud of our school and our community.
