About the School

Since 1864, Catholic education has been part of the Stratford community. The first school was opened that year, and aside from two closures between 1864 and 1929, has continuously served the region since then.

St Patrick’s Primary School has links with the Sisters of St Joseph, who staffed the school from 1929 until 1959, when the Sisters of Our Lady of Sion replaced them.  The last Religious Sister of the school was Sister Lauraine Brice who retired in 1990.

Throughout its history St Patrick’s Primary School has offered a quality Catholic education, a tradition it continues today. It nurtures an environment of love and respect where the uniqueness of each individual is valued.

Small class sizes and committed, professional staff are features of the school.

St Patrick’s Primary School values the importance of community and the contribution members of the community can make to the life of the school.  Parents play an active role at the school and have many opportunities to be involved.

St Patrick’s Primary School has recently experienced strong growth and is proud of its excellent reputation in the local community.

The school is currently undergoing major building works that when complete will provide modern, vibrant learning spaces for students and staff.
