About the School

St Joseph's School provides primary education for children from the communities in and around Orbost. Founded by the Sisters of St Joseph in 1923, it has developed a strong tradition in the local community. Enrolments are warmly invited from all families, including those with other faith traditions. The multi-age class groupings provides for valuable social education and enables children to recognise their own responsibility in developing an atmosphere informed by the gospel values of Jesus Christ of peace, justice, love and hope. The award-winning gardens create a safe, stimulating outdoor area for students. Modern facilities and well-resourced technology assist in creating innovative teaching. Specialist subjects include art and physical education, and there is an instrumental music program. The close-knit school community enables staff, students and parents to work together to create an excellent educational experience and an effective pastoral care system. We provide an educational environment that enables each child to reach its full potential, and the religious, spiritual, intellectual, emotional, social and physical development of each child is nurtured and developed. Visit the school website.
