About the School

Immaculate Heart of Mary Primary School is a Catholic school which supports the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Newborough.  It has been offering quality education in the Moe-Newborough area for over 50 years.

Immaculate Heart of Mary Primary School offers a comprehensive curriculum which is based on the needs of the individual student with a high priority placed on literacy and numeracy development. Support programs, including Reading Recovery, Extending Mathematical Understanding (EMU) and Bridges, are available to assist students who have found literacy and/or numeracy challenging or who need extra support with their learning in these key areas.

All the rooms in the school have been recently refurbished to provide stimulating comfortable learning spaces for our students and staff.

Immaculate Heart of Mary Primary School recognises the importance of equipping students to use technologies as valuable resources to further their learning.  In addition to a computer laboratory of twenty computers, each classroom is equipped with a bank of computers and an interactive white board to ensure that our students have the opportunity to utilise technology to enhance their learning.

We provide many opportunities for our students to participate in a wide range of sporting and performance based activities, including the annual School Concert, the Traralgon Eisteddfod, and interschool sports.

We have an extensive fully fenced playground, which includes a grass oval and two basketball/netball courts.

We take pride in the effective pastoral care program and the community spirit which exists at Immaculate Heart of Mary Primary School.
