About the School

St Brendan’s Primary School is a Catholic school located at Lakes Entrance in East Gippsland.  Currently we enrol more than 150 students from Lakes Entrance and the surrounding areas. The Sisters of St Joseph have had a strong involvement in the school since it first opened its doors to students in 1958.

Parishioners quickly took St Brendan’s to heart. Sixty-three students enrolled in the first year alone.  This first group of students at St Brendan’s won the inter-school sports for 1958.

The school maintains a strong commitment to the core values of faith, community, respect and courage. All children are encouraged to reach their potential through a faith-based education.

We provide many opportunities for our students to participate in a wide range of activities. We have a strong literacy and numeracy program which includes precise and personalised teaching for all students, a maths extension program and intervention programs in both literacy and numeracy in the early and middle years.

We offer a range of sporting activities and opportunities through our Physical Education program with some of our children achieving state level in their chosen field. We also foster the creative arts through our drama and music programs. We also offer Information Technology and Auslan.

All children are encouraged to participate in community service activities. Our new facilities include refurbishment of our administration block, library, computer area and other learning areas. A sports stadium is being built and a new playground area is being developed.
