One Athletics Carnival, Two Days, Three Venues

28 May, 2015

Inclement  weather saw the Athletics Carnival held over two days, firstly at the Recreation Reserve in Davidson Street and then at Agnes Brereton Reserve and back at the school. Only the 800m races were able to be completed at Davidson Street with the 100m sprints and house relays being held at Agnes Brereton. The remainder of the Carnival was completed back at school which included the tug of war, novelty events and aerobics.

The Aerobic Trophy was awarded to “Red House” and the overall Athletic Champions were “Blue House.”  Blue House students were ecstatic as it had been 15 years since they last won the Champion’s trophy.

Mrs Blackford also said, “A big thank you to our sports coordinator, Mrs Sharon Scholtes and all our staff for all their work prior to both days and for the smooth running of the actual Carnivals.  Special thanks must also go to all the parents, families and friends who helped in many different ways to make the days such a success and for encouraging and supporting our students. “
